The University of Wisconsin Madison-Department of Animal Sciences, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and the University of Wisconsin Cooperative Extension are pleased to announce the hiring of Alissa Grenawalt to the Department.
Grenawalt will be serving as an Extension Outreach Specialist coordinating and collaborating on new and existing programming within the Animal Sciences Department. Areas of emphasis will include youth, livestock, poultry, horse and meats to assist current specialists in those areas in providing high quality and high impact programs and content to Wisconsin stakeholders. The Department is pleased to add Alissa’s proven expertise and wealth of knowledge in Extension education and community outreach efforts to this new role.
Previously Grenawalt led the Green County 4-H program serving as the 4-H and Youth Development agent for 12 years. In this role, Alissa led an active 4-H program and demonstrated success in many areas; creating content, establishing partnerships in the areas of youth development and community outreach as well as facilitating effective collaborations.
Grenawalt holds a B.S. degree in Animal Science and a M.S. Degree in Agricultural Industries both from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Alissa grew up on a commercial beef and farming operation in rural Rock county. She along with her family continues to farm and raise commercial and registered Red Angus cattle.
