Four years after hanging up his skates, world champion speedskater Apolo Ohno is tackling a new athletic challenge with chocolate milk by his side.
Ohno has teamed up with the Built with Chocolate Milk campaign to take on a training and recovery journey that will bring him to the world’s most grueling test of endurance: the Ironman World Championship. The 140.6-mile swimming, biking and running triathlon will take place in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, in October.
His journey will be highlighted in an eight-episode documentary web series called Mission Apolo: Build with Chocolate Milk. Fans can watch the series at www.gotchocolatemilk.com.
Viewers will get an inside look at the highs and lows of training for such an event and building an effective recovery routine. For Ohno, this includes chocolate milk, which has been shown to refuel exhausted muscles and help return them to peak potential due to its mix of protein and carbohydrates.
