As student organization leaders, it’s always fun to sit back and watch your members enjoy success. Last week, we had the chance to do so.
We couldn’t be more excited about the turnout for the 4th annual Ag Day on Campus at UW-Madison. Ag Day has evolved into one of those unique opportunities for consumers young and old to interact with young people who are passionate about agriculture.
While we feel honored to have the chance to work with this event, we’re keenly aware of the help we’ve had from individuals far and wide – former CFB members, Farm Bureau staff, sponsors, advisors and more. To these important supporters, we say thank you.
We know that in agriculture, our work is far from done – to that end we hope you’ll take time after this busy season to get active with promoting agriculture and connecting with consumers.
We hope farmers across Wisconsin are proud of the work of 40 college students who care about agriculture and its future. We sure are.
Event Recap
If you missed the event, check out the info below to get a feel for how the 4th-ever Ag Day on Campus at UW-Madison came together.
Held on Library Mall, the event attracted students, staff, Madison community members and even Wisconsin’s Secretary of Agriculture Ben Brancel. Collegiate Farm Bureau members organized the event, chaired by us as president and vice president along with secretary Emily Selner, treasurer Jordan DeLong, director-at-large Kate Griswold and director-at-large Zoey Brooks.
The event centered around our #AskAFarmer theme. One new attraction at Ag Day this year was a photo booth, complete with a #AskAFarmer backdrop. Check out all the photo booth and event pictures here.
Other attractions included an ag trivia wheel and free samples of food products from the University Club.
We also welcomed two television news crews to campus. Check out their coverage here:
Sponsors of Ag Day on Campus included Brooks Farms, Dane County Dairy Promotion, Inc., Rock Prairie Dairy, LLC., Milk Source, LLC., AgStar Financial Services, Hartung Brothers, GreenStone Farm Credit Services, Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation, SCR Dairy, Inc., Badger Dairy Club, Association of Women in Agriculture, Agri-Nutrition Consulting, LLC., UW Saddle and Sirloin Club, VitaPlus, Rosy-Lane Holsteins LLC, Ebert Dairy Enterprise LLC, and ANIMART.
