Jacob and Eliza Bobolz of Rock County were named the winners of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Farming for the Future award at the 2024 WFBF Annual Meeting and YFA Conference.
The Bobolz couple has been involved in Farm Bureau for many years, coming from families of long-time members. They have also played an active role in their local community through various leadership positions and events. Jacob, a fifth-generation farmer, and Eliza recently expanded their operation by purchasing land adjacent to their family’s generational farm. This new opportunity allowed them to begin their own farming story as a beef and cash crop farm.
When asked how they felt about receiving such a prestigious award, Jacob expressed, “ I’m not a very prideful person, but getting to have this experience and interview for this award you get to meet all the other contestants who are all very deserving and to be selected by a panel of judges, it made me feel pride for what Eliza and I and my family have accomplished in our farming operation.”
Both Jacob and Eliza are proud to be part of the Farm Bureau community. They expressed their appreciation that the organization provides a welcoming space for all members and encourages collaboration among agriculturalists who are eager to support Wisconsin’s farmers and agricultural industry.
