Why do you value your Farm Bureau membership?
We value our Farm Bureau membership because it connects us with a strong community of people who understand agriculture, rural life and the importance of supporting local farms and families. The networking opportunities have allowed us to build relationships with other members, share ideas and learn about other agriculture around the state and nation.
What has been your favorite Farm Bureau program/event/etc. and why?
One of our favorite Farm Bureau events has been our county’s Harvest Party. It’s always a great gathering where local farmers and members of the agricultural community come together after a busy season. We appreciate that our county Farm Bureau provides a meal and creates an opportunity for everyone to relax, catch up and have meaningful conversations. It’s one of those events that really highlights the sense of community and connection that makes being part of Farm Bureau so valuable.
What would you tell YFA members about getting involved in the YFA program?
The program is an excellent way to meet new people from across the state and nation who share similar interests and passions in agriculture. One of my favorite parts of YFA is getting to talk with other members at the WFBF Annual Meeting and YFA Conference about the variety of agriculture in their part of the state and hearing about what they do on their own farms and in their communities.
Best words of advice/words of wisdom.
The relationships you build through YFA will open more doors than you realize. Don’t be afraid to get involved and meet new people. The agriculture world is small, and the people you meet today may become lifelong friends, mentors or business connections tomorrow.
