Teachers will now have more tools in their toolbox when it comes to teaching about agriculture. Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Ag in the Classroom program has released two updated resources.
“This Business Called Agriculture” and “An Agricultural Career For You” are two activity booklets formerly distributed by the Wisconsin Agribusiness Council. The Wisconsin Ag in the Classroom program has adopted and updated them to fit teacher’s needs.
Wisconsin soils, dairy, crops and livestock are just some of the topics covered in these resources. Wisconsin Ag in the Classroom now offers a newly-updated version of the booklets, accompanied by an educator’s guide filled with lesson plans aligned to learning standards.
“This Business Called Agriculture” is a fourth to sixth grade resource that has thirty-one different topics for students to learn about careers in. Both booklets have teacher guides with supplemental lessons which are correlated to academic standards.
“Ag Agricultural Career for You” is targeted to middle and high school students who are exploring agricultural careers and opportunities. It highlights agricultural career pathways, career websites and activities students can use.
These resources give teachers accurate and reliable information about agriculture to pass on to their students. To order these resources visit wisagclassroom.org/teachers-information/lesson-plans, call 608.828.5644 or email aitc@wfbf.com.
