Amy Eckelberg has been promoted by the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation to its Director of Communications.
As a member of the WFBF’s public relations team, Eckelberg is responsible for social media, website and video projects. She also assists in writing, editing and designing content for state Farm Bureau publications and promotional materials.
“With a working knowledge of everything from farming to Facebook, Amy is uniquely qualified to share Farm Bureau’s message with members and consumers. Amy brings a farm girl’s work ethic and an enthusiastic approach to her work. Our members are served well by her efforts,” said Casey Langan, Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Executive Director of Public Relations.
Eckelberg (formerly Manske) was raised on her family’s dairy farm near New London in Waupaca County. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. She joined the WFBF staff in July, 2012.
“To me, the biggest honor is working for farmers,” Eckelberg said. “I am very excited for this next chapter in my Farm Bureau career.”
Eckelberg grew up showing hogs and dairy cattle at the Waupaca County Fair. She was a member of FFA and 4-H and continues to be a 4-H leader. She is a former Waupaca County Fairest of the Fair and was a finalist for Alice in Dairyland in 2012. Eckelberg was also active on the Fourth Estate newspaper staff at UW-Green Bay, working as a news writer, business manager and public relations manager. Eckelberg and her husband, Jonathan, were married in October and live in DeForest.
She succeeds Sheri Sutton as WFBF’s Director of Communications. The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation is the state’s largest general farm organization, representing farms of every size, commodity and management style.
