Shae Sortwell and Mark Grams of Two Rivers have been endorsed by the Volunteers for Agriculture (VFA) Committee for the 2nd Assembly District. VFA is the political action arm of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation.
“After sitting down with both candidates, our committee of area farmers made the very difficult and rare decision to endorse both candidates in the race,” WFBF’s Senior Director of Governmental Relations Rob Richard said. “Both candidates will bring considerable and unique strengths when it comes to their willingness to advocate for issues that will best serve farm families in the 2nd Assembly District.”
The 2nd Assembly District includes portions of Brown and Manitowoc counties. Sortwell is a Republican and Grams is a Democrat seeking an open seat.
“We believe that whoever comes out on top on November 6, farmers in Assembly District 2 will have someone who will listen to their concerns and represent them well in the Capitol,” said Richard. “Equally important, both candidates served their country honorably in the military and the committee offers their sincere gratitude for their service.”
The Volunteers for Agriculture Committee is comprised of 18 farmers from across the state and was formed to give farmers a more direct role in electing leaders who best represent agriculture’s interests.
