Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation and Professional Dairy Producers (PDPW) are celebrating the recent announcement of the return of the UW Farm and Industry Short Course hosted by UW-River Falls after working together to provide guidance on the program’s changes. Following the announcement, the organizations issued the following joint statement that can be attributed to WFBF President Kevin Krentz:
“For over 137 years, the UW Farm and Industry Short Course program has helped develop some of the brightest leaders in production agriculture. Wisconsin Farm Bureau and PDPW are excited to see this Wisconsin tradition return for the 2023-24 academic year.
We are pleased UW-River Falls took this heavy lift to revive Farm and Industry Short Course and bring a new perspective to reenergize this world-class program. We are excited about the collaboration that will be had within the campus partnerships and the benefits it will have on students moving forward.
We appreciate the work of the farmers, alumni and representatives who provided valuable guidance toward the return of this program. The availability of educational opportunities for future leaders in agriculture is critical and we are excited to see this program flourish in its new location.”
