Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation and the Wisconsin Beef Council have partnered to host a live grilling video on Thursday, July 2 at 11:30 a.m.
The livestream will be available on both organization’s Facebook pages and is free to watch. Viewers will learn how to prepare a grilled flank steak with potato salad.
“We are excited to help promote the use of Wisconsin-grown food products ahead of the Fourth of July holiday, which is one of the most popular times to grill and enjoy food with family and friends,” said WFBF Director of Communications Sarah Hetke.
Wisconsin’s beef industry is the third largest among all agriculture commodities with our state being home to more than 14,000 beef farming families.
“We all know that beef tastes great, but it’s also nutritious,” said Wisconsin Beef Council Consulting Dietitian Sarah Agena. “A 3 oz. cooked serving of lean beef provides 10 essential nutrients in around 170 calories, less than 10 grams of total fat, less than 95 mg of cholesterol and provides about 25 grams of protein per serving.”
The Wisconsin Beef Council is a producer-directed not-for-profit organization funded by the beef checkoff. The purpose of the Council is to fund beef promotion, research and consumer education activities supporting Wisconsin’s $2.1 billion beef industry.
