Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation’s Promotion and Education Committee will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items and supplies, December 6-9 during the WFBF Annual Meeting and YFA Conference, to be donated to food banks across the state.
The committee has set a goal of collecting 10,000 items, 100 items for each of the 100 years that Wisconsin Farm Bureau has been in existence.
“This is a way for Farm Bureau members to celebrate our Centennial while also giving to those who are in need during the holiday season,” said Promotion and Education Committee chair Andrea Brossard.
The nine district representatives on the committee will have an opportunity to take some of the donated items back to a food pantry in their community as a way to make a positive impact across the state.
Items that many food banks have listed as the most needed include: peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, diapers and wipes, toothbrushes and toothpaste, dry or canned beans, deodorant and canned tuna. Monetary donations will also be accepted.
If you are interested in making a donation, you can bring items to the WFBF Annual Meeting or send items with a county Farm Bureau member who will be attending.
