Wisconsin Farm Bureau Statement on Passage of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement

The following statement can be attributed to Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation President Joe Bragger:

“Wisconsin Farm Bureau is thankful for the Senate approval of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement today with an 89-10 vote.

This long-awaited deal will help Wisconsin farmers who rely on these trading relationships. The agreement provides new market access for American dairy and poultry products while maintaining the zero-tariff platform on all other agricultural products. Specifically, our state’s dairy farmers should welcome U.S. dairy products access to an additional 3.6% of Canada’s dairy market.

We appreciate the support from the lawmakers who got this across the finish line and look forward to President Trump signing it into law. Our members have spent many hours promoting the need for this trade package and will continue to push for other trade agreements that will only continue to boost support to our state’s farmers and rural communities.”
