If so, encourage them to fill out an application for the Wisconsin Farm Bureau\u2019s Ag in the Classroom Program\u2019s Outstanding Teacher Award.<\/p>\n<p>Certified teachers currently integrating agricultural concepts into non-agricultural curricula in the pre-K through high school levels are eligible to apply. Applications may be from an individual teacher or a teaching team. Certified agriculture education instructors are not eligible.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wfbf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/AITC-logo-color-sm.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-12646 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/wfbf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/AITC-logo-color-sm.jpg\" alt=\"AITC logo color sm\" width=\"264\" height=\"196\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wfbf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/AITC-logo-color-sm.jpg 360w, https:\/\/wfbf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/AITC-logo-color-sm-300x223.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 264px) 100vw, 264px\" \/><\/a>Teachers must utilize agricultural information and\/or materials within the classroom curriculum in an effort to assist students in learning the importance of agriculture. Learning activities may include, but are not limited to, understanding agriculture\u2019s impact on personal lives, our national heritage, the environment, or national security and the economy. Innovative and interdisciplinary programs are encouraged.<\/p>\n<p>The state winner(s) will receive a plaque and $500 stipend to be used towards attending the 2017 National AITC Conference in Kansas City, Missouri. They will also represent Wisconsin as the state\u2019s nominee for the Excellence in Teaching about Agriculture Award Program presented by the U.S. Department of Agriculture\u2019s Ag in the Classroom program.<\/p>\n<p>Applications are available from the Wisconsin Ag in the Classroom website (wisagclassroom.org) and are due postmarked by October 15. The program seeks to work within existing curricula to provide basic information on our nation&#8217;s largest industry: Agriculture. Wisconsin\u2019s Ag in the Classroom program is carried out by a network of local educators, volunteers and representatives from agricultural organizations and businesses.
