On December 12, 2017, in Wisconsin Dells, UW Discovery Farms will host its 6th annual conference geared towards farmers, that emphasizes strategies that work on farms, and for the improvement of water quality. The conference will bring together farmers, farm advisors, and experts for a reality check on precision agriculture, nutrients, and climate.
This year, UW Discovery Farms wanted to go beyond the basics and bring forth presentations that do not regularly make the conference circuit. This is why the theme is What next? Going beyond the cropping and conservation basics. Presenters from Kentucky, Colorado, and Wisconsin will discuss their groundbreaking research on precision agriculture, nutrient management, climate, and economics.
In addition to an emphasis on nationally renowned applied research, listen to a panel of farmers, crop consultants and manure haulers discuss their innovative approaches to nitrogen application. The day will wrap up with a reality check panel making sure that the tools needed get identified and the tough questions are answered. You will not leave this conference empty-handed. Instead, you will have valuable, innovative information to support continuous improvement of soil and water resources while preserving farm productivity and profitability.
The conference will be held on December 12 from 9:00 am to 3:45 pm at the Glacier Canyon Conference Center, Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells. Registration is $40 for Wisconsin Farm Bureau members (use code UWDF10) and includes a noon meal. Registration opens October 26.
