Known to many in the dairy industry, Yogi was born and raised a city kid and later married into dairy farming. Along with her husband, Brian, they own a dairy farm south of Madison where she is responsible for calves, employees, financials, kids and occasional suppers. Very actively involved in the ag community, Yogi spends much of her time volunteering and serves as the treasurer of the Dane County Dairy Promotion Committee, which is the committee that organizes Dane County’s Breakfast on the Farm, Cows on the Concourse, agricultural promotion and supports many ag related youth activities. She also is a Leadership Wisconsin alumni and volunteers with the Belleville Busy Beaver 4-H Club.
What is one word you would use to describe women in agriculture?
“My word for women in ag is ‘thrill-seekers.’ Many women in ag want to push the limit. They have the knowledge base and support from some great organizations, like Farm Bureau, to let women really test what waits for them in agriculture.”
