Glenwood City School District utilized Ag in ALL Classrooms funds to expand student awareness of food production through the techniques of hydroponic plant production. The students grew herbs for class and for use in the school lunch program. The program plans to partner with community groups to expand.hydroponic production to impact students district-wide. Q: How is the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation supported?
A: The Foundation is a public charity supported by donors and sponsors who believe in our programming and mission. Funds are received throughout the year from:
- General donations from individuals
- Contributions and sponsorships from county Farm Bureaus
- Sponsorships and grants from businesses and organizations
- Legacy and estate gifts from individuals
Q: What are the current goals of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Foundation?
A: The Foundation’s primary goal is to increase fundraising to meet program funding needs. Without additional fundraising or a reduction in program support, the Foundation will spend into its reserves and can’t sustainably operate long term.
To increase our fundraising levels, the foundation director and Board of Trustees are working to build our network of donors and sponsors, and diversify funding sources, including grants, sponsorships, estate giving and major gifts.
Q: What do the foundation director and Board of Trustees do?
A: The foundation director is the main contact for the Foundation and is responsible for organizing and developing day-to-day fundraising efforts, including gifts, grants and sponsorships.
The Foundation Board of Trustees was constituted in 2024 to further build the network of support and serve as advisors and ambassadors. The Board of Trustees meets regularly and advocates on behalf of the Foundation’s efforts.
Q: I want to support the next generation of farmers and agriculturists, too. How can I give to the Foundation?
A: You can support our important programs in the following ways:
- Make a gift online or via mail
- Follow, share and like stories on Giving Day (coming this August 14, 2024)
- Explore other ways to give, like donating an auction item, including the Foundation in your estate plans or making a qualified charitable distribution from your IRA.
